Firefox будет автоматически обновлять Flash Player
Дыры в Flash Player настолько всех замучили, что Mozilla объявила о принудительной проверке апдейтов Flash Player прямо из браузера. Такой функционал будет реализован уже в будущих версиях Firefox 3.5.3 и 3.0.14. Сразу после установки апдейта Firefox появится следующее сообщение.
В будущем (с версии 3.6) проверка апдейтов плагинов будет происходить на постоянной основе, как сейчас происходит проверка расширений. Теоретически, разработчики хотели бы сделать процесс обновления плагинов таким же простым, как в расширений, то есть без посещения сторонних сайтов. В случае с Flash Player - хотя бы через Adobe Express Install.
Flash Player является одним из самых простых способов проникновения в систему. Эксплойты публикуются довольно часто, а дыры закрываются довольно медленно. Даже после выхода апдейт до 80% пользователей продолжают пользоваться старой версией плеера.
Кстати, буквально несколько дней назад начался скандал с компанией Apple, которая вместе со своей новой операционной системой поставляла старую дырявую версию Flash Player, а при апгрейде Mac ОS новая версия Flash Player принудительно заменялась на старую.
